Austrian
girls showed a strong performance
Anja Paerson:
"Up to now I have never had good results in Zauchensee, but I try to find peace with the mountain and to fight myself back. I am looking forward to tomorrow.”
Andrea Fischbacher:
„I am quite satisfied with my race, but I have to improve certain parts. At the Hot Air it is very important to control the jump. Generally the trail is faster than yesterday and tomorrow it will become even faster. My aim and expectation for tomorrow is to give my best, do a good run and then we will see.”
Elisabeth Görgl:
„Compared with oder World cup
villages, Zauchensee is one of the most challenging and fastest race, technical
difficult, demanding turns and good jumps. Tomorrow I will try to do a good
downhill race and to be relaxed in the slalom. I am sure we will have
interesting competitions.”

First impressions
after the 1st Ladies downhill training in
Altenmarkt-Zauchensee
Maria Riesch:
“The slope is
compact and agressive. The first turn was in fog, afterwards I had best
conditions. At the beginning I lost my stick, then I tried to find the best
line.
Renate Götschl:
„The area is very challenging, a beautiful mountain. I am in a good mood and looking forward to the weekend!”
Kelly Vanderbeek:
„The slope is perfect. I love the turns and the atmosphere. I am very relaxed and I am looking forward to the weekend!”
Kathrin Zettel:
„I am surprised about my 4th place. During the race I felt very good. The downhill race includes everything: jumps and technical parts. Specially in the technical part I could gain time.”

Downhill Training Cancelled
Due to bad weather conditions (fog) , the jury has decided to cancel Wednesday's downhill training.

Full Speed Ahead!

Approximately 2/3 of the World Cup slope is closed until December 20th!

A Radical Facelift
Between Christmas and New Years, our master machine groomers were busy prepping the 70% vertical at the top of the World Cup slope. It's the highest race start so far at Zauchensee at 2,175 meters -- 7,135 feet!
It was an impressive sight as the snowcats drove up and down the steep and demanding face of the Gamskogel 2175m, appearing to hang in mid-air. Thanks to their skill, we anticipate a successful start to the ladies downhill race.
Hopefully the weather will cooperate!

100% Capacity
All lifts are operating in Zauchensee/Flachauwinkl and Radstadt/Altenmarkt!
Please Note: Approx. 2/3 of the World Cup slope is closed from January 7-20, 2009 due to the FIS Races! We kindly ask for your understanding!
We look forward to welcoming you in Zauchensee/Flachauwinkl and Radstadt/Altenmarkt!
